LA270 | Environmental Systems

1. The course as a whole has been very engaging and I feel like I have learned a lot.
2. It has been very fun, I enjoy the hands-on activities. They help retain information and are a great way to learn about processes in the class.
3. Love that more practical topics are brought up.
4. Enjoy the hands on experiences and class trips.
5. The class is extremely engaging and allows students with first hand experience and interactions with concrete and physical things/ activities.
6. The field trips are a lot of fun and get students excited and passionate about what they are learning and allow them the opportunity to relate in class learning to real world stuff.

1. I really enjoyed the class, and I found it engaging and informative.
2. Professor Gray gave us so many opportunities to be involved and learn new things.
3. This class was engaging and interesting.
4. He went above and beyond by giving us many field trip opportunities as well as hands-on projects that helped us try something new that we wouldn’t otherwise get the chance to do.
5. Colby is very good at advice and life advice. He truly cares about his students and pushes us to work hard but also take care of ourselves.
6. I greatly enjoyed the course and the field trips were engaging and allowed me to apply what I was learning in the classroom, outside.

LA301 | Housing and Community Design

1. The course material and subject was interesting and beneficial.
2. I am really glad I was in this studio experience this semester and I learned a lot, thank you very much!
3. You are extremely capable of this position as a professor.

You are a very good professor, and you understand us very well, and that can be see in how you pair us up for projects and how well our final project is going (no professor has ever suggested we do an entire class group project and you have executed it in a way that it works and, we it is a lot of fun).
5. You know what you are talking about and that you have fully thought through the curriculum.
6. The way the projects were organized really set me up well for the final project, going from co-housing to higher density in that same area to even higher density worked really well in helping me understand how to organize community housing at different levels.
7. He is very detail-oriented.
8. Many of the readings and pre-discussions (as tedious as they sometimes were), did help.
9. I really do feel that I learned a lot from this class.
10. I believe that our professor did a very good job in engaging everyone and giving us opportunities to practice and become proficient in learning how to use computer resources and programs, presenting our boards, creating diagrams that express our intent and back up our ideas with “facts.”
11. I also think this class was a great transition into the “real world.”
12. Colby was very active in helping me throughout the semester and made it possible for me to achieve quality work in a timely manner.
13. I think he is a very good professor that works to both achieve the academic goals set forth by the curriculum as well as work with students individually to help them achieve these goals.

20. There were multiple parts of projects that required group work and I really enjoyed these and I felt it help stimulate good file management and communication between both the students and professor.
21. Very grateful for having to learn to use all the computer programs in this course.
22. Professor Gray is extremely good at looking at the analytical aspects of these projects. Understanding patterns and how they influence our designs was an interesting and helpful part of learning how to design at larger scales.
23. He was clear and efficient at teaching, and he is always willing to stay after class and answer questions for us.

CAP400 | Introduction to Digital Fabrication

1. Colby has some really good design experience in Rhino and it was good to learn a fragment of what he knows.
2. Colby is very into what he does and is serious about whatever he’s doing and that’s good.
